Industry and Trade Minister Tarek Kabil: The government aims to impose a nominal annual tax of EGP 100 (that will be applied retroactively) on “SMEs” (we believe a more appropriate term would be “micro- and very-small enterprises”) in an effort to encourage these businesses to file tax returns and integrate them into the formal economy, said the minister.
